About
The Tinapa Business and Leisure Resort is an ambitious 265-hectare business, trade, and tourism complex located just north of Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. Envisioned by former Governor Donald Duke and commissioned in 2007, the $350 million mega-project was designed as West Africa’s premier duty-free retail, wholesale, and entertainment hub. After facing complex regulatory hurdles, financial strains, and legal limbos that left it largely underutilized and quiet for years, the resort has hit a major turning point: the Cross River State Government officially reclaimed full ownership from the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON). The state is actively partnering with the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) to fully revitalize the infrastructure, attract global investors, and restore Tinapa to its original glory
